British Public Health Minister Jo Churchill |
They are coming close to restricting what kind of food we eat.
Britain will ban “buy one get one free” promotions for food high in fat, sugar or salt and free refills of sugary soft drinks in restaurants from April 2022, the UK government said according to Reuters.
“We are restricting promotions and introducing a range of measures to make sure the healthy choice is the easy choice. Creating an environment which helps everyone eat healthier foods more regularly is crucial to improving the health of the nation,” public health minister Jo Churchill said.
The question must then be asked: Who determines what "unhealthy" food is? The British equivalent of Anthony Fauci?
Just remember that it is always those close to power that set the rules and they set the rules to benefit themselves.
Many attribute the current obesity crisis in the United States to the government promoted food pyramid.
Here is how that came about. From the Obesity Code by Dr. Jason Fung:
As I have previously pointed out:
McGovern must have been deep into the pockets of the grain industry. Later, after unsuccesful presidential runs, in April 1998, he began a three-year stint as United States ambassador to the United Nations Agencies for Food and Agriculture after having been named to the post by President Bill Clinton.
He also, in 2001, began working with fellow former senator Bob Dole to persuade the Senate to support expanded school lunch, food stamps, and "nutritional" help for pregnant women and poor children in the U.S.

As with almost all of government, they make it simple to determine the truth: the opposite of what they endorse.
ReplyDeleteThe big howler is that fat is unhealthy. Heath is a balance. Fatty acids are the most important nutrients to keep in balance. The fat profile of grains is the opposite of what humans and all mammals need.
Buy one get one free is illegal but 50% off when you buy two is still legal.
ReplyDeleteSome people prefer to take the risks of eating "unhealthy" food. The politicians grandiosely believe they know better than you what your subjective ranking of risk should be. Michael, http://TheREBT.life
ReplyDeleteThe future of oppressive regulation lies in declaring "health emergencies": The government wants more oppressive gun-control regulations? Declare guns a "health emergency." Want to force people into white-privilege re-education classes, or pass more hate-crime legislation, or grant reparations to blacks? Just declare racism as a national "health emergency." Same with forcing us to go Green, or to eat less meat, or attacking private schools or charter schools, etc. Hell, the way things are going, soon Capitalism will be declared an existential threat to the health of the Nation, and then anything is possible...
