Rand Paul |
Senator Rand Paul appeared on "Mornings With Maria Bartiromo" this morning and told guest host Dagen McDowell that he supports the COVID-19 vaccinations and said they should be released to the general public at a more rapid pace than is now being done.
He did make clear that vaccinations should only be given to those who want the vaccination but he did not address the fact that pharmaceutical companies have been given blanket immunity against liability for negative consequences caused by the vaccine by those who take it. (Of course, in a libertarian society vaccine makers and those who take the vaccine would set up their own liability terms, total liability to none.)
It was also curious that Rand did not explain why a vaccine should be given to the general public when the consequences of a severe reaction to the virus for those under 70 are extremely slim.

Very interesting. From what his father has been saying on the Liberty Report, Rand and Ron have a very different opinion on the vaccine.
ReplyDeleteI’m rollin with Ron.

Maybe the Ron Paul Institute for Peace and Prosperity could release a statement on their position on the vaccine.
ReplyDeleteRon Paul seems very reticent to make statements that don't align w/ Rand. He usually just doesn't talk about it. Probably a family thing. This one might be different.
DeleteI, too, roll with Ron!
Rand Paul or anyone else can recommend whatever they want. My problem is with being forced. So long as there is no force or using a corporate end run* a recommendation is someone's opinion that we are all free to accept or discard as we wish with reason or none at all.
ReplyDelete*Where the government has helped large corporations dominate business sectors and the corporations then require something, in this case vaccination, to do business. that is we are still being forced but it is masked by private entities pushing the same policy such that are impossible or nearly impossible to avoid.
