WARNING: The CDC Official Who Put Out the Warning About the Coronavirus is Rod Rosenstein's Sister

The stock market dived again on Tuesday in part after warnings about the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) were issued by an official of the Center for Disease Control, Dr. Nancy Messonnier, the CDC Director of the Center for the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases.

Messionomer said:

As more and more countries experience community spread, successful containment at our borders becomes harder and harder. It’s not a question of if this will happen but when this will happen and how many people in this country will have severe illnesses. Disruption to everyday life might be severe.

Talk about an unusually panic-inducing warning from  Messonnier, especially given that the flu and coronavirus seasons have likely peaked in the northern hemisphere.

Immediately after the Messonnier warning, lefty media went on the attack against President Trump for not doing enough to prevent COVID-19 from entering the US. But here is the thing, at this point,  there have been all of two human-to-human transmissions of the virus in the US.

The US is far from out of the woods, given the potential for an infected foreign tourist who travels, say, to Times Square in New York City which could result in infected far and wide in the US. But no one knows what the odds are of this. Further, by all indications, the virus is actually fairly mild and death rates appear to be in line with flu virus death rates. Indeed, the CDC estimates that this flu season somewhere between 16,000 and 41,000 will die this year from the flu. And we have no drama warnings from the CDC about that. So what gives?

Well, for one thing, Dr. Nancy Messonnier is the sister of the former Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein who appointed Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

And Messonnier is also a statist vaccine freak.

In congressional testimony last year, she said,

[W]e’ve recently collaborated with social media companies like Pinterest and Facebook...CDC will continue to use innovative techniques to strengthen the public’s trust in vaccines...

 From the Merck product statement, it is clear the odds are very low  (1 in 3 million) but it can occur:

I personally hold no view on vaccines but believe that the decision about vaccinations should be left up to individuals and in the case of children up to the parents and not statists like Messonnier.

It is unlikely she is a friend of Trump:

Could she be part of the resistance?

It was reported that CDC employees cried when Trump was elected.

She is on the board of directors of the Vaccinate Your Family organization, which is funded in part by Merck, GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer and Sanofi Pasteur.
