Bizarre: National Libertarian Party Links Itself Up With Satanism

Via Wikipedia: "Satan is traditionally identified as the serpent who tempted Eve to eat the forbidden fruit, as he was in Judaism."

Sounds at a minimum that Satan was promoting disrespect for the property of others. This connects with libertarianism how?

  1. We need a new word for libertarianism, because the modern libertarian movement is no longer Ron Paul, Mises/Rothbard, PPS, Constitutionalism, etc but rather a mishmash of anarcho-communists, syndicalists, social credit / MMT evangelists, resource-based economy weirdos, Jeffrey Tucker type 'left-libertarians', and now Satanists. I nominate Wenzel's 'Private Property Society' as the replacement term.

    1. Maybe you should go read some more of Ron Paul, Rothbard, and Mises if you think the LP has any of these types in it. We're being overrun by far-right conservatives.

  2. Completely concur with the above... though I give a shit about "constitutionalists" as the thought that a document could constrain a federal government was what got us here in the first place.

  3. PPS: Where you can live in a private neighborhood and neither you nor your kids will ever have to encounter a Satanist.

  4. I expressly stated to a former Michigan LP chair in the late 80s that we will be able to convert the entire world to Rothbardianism before we will get the LP to be either sane or competent. He is my witness.

I knew things were not quite right when I could never convince any of them that private drug testing was a great way to replace the drug war.

  5. I say "Much a-do about nothing." If you blink and not notice the post does it change the positions of the Libertarian Party. No it does not. As for the Facebook comments, where does the LP claim that all commenters speak for it?

  6. Being called a satanist is okay, so long as you don't call them racist.

  7. We don't need a new word for Libertarianism. We just need to aggressively expose fake/phony/pretend/pseudo libertarianism starting with the LP.
