Why Ron Paul Is Right About Donald Trump

By Chris Rossini

Ron Paul was recently on the Alan Colmes Show where he accurately described Donald Trump as "dangerous" and "authoritarian". Dr. Paul has, on more than one occasion, tried to warn the public of the man who claims to be a white knight that is here to save the country. Robert Wenzel and Tom DiLorenzo have also referred to F.A. Hayek's warning on the "can-do" politician.

The Donald has left no doubt that, in his mind, he is the white knight. Trump is always reminding the American public: "I am the only one who can make America truly great again!"

First of all, America was once a great nation because of the individual liberty that citizens enjoyed. The really good times, from a standpoint of liberty, was when America did not have a centralized federal government. But even after the centralizers staged their coup, the federal government was barely significant at first. The average American had but the thinnest connection to it.

That was what made America great....individual liberty from government. The results, of course, spoke for themselves.

Individual liberty has to be the lynchpin to prosperity. There is no other way. For only I can know what my immediate problems are, and based on my own value scales, have to find the economic solution for each of them. The same goes for you, and your neighbor, and everyone else. In order for us to individually find economic solutions to our problems, we have to have rock-solid private property rights, and free market prices to guide our decisions. Individual problems cannot be solved by a white knight who barks down edicts from Mount Olympus.

Americans once had that kind of freedom. We who are alive today never had it. But our ancestors did, and they shook the world. We're surviving on the few liberties that are left.

We Americans today must toil under federal, state, and local governments that continually destroy our rights to private property. We must trade in a marketplace that has been twisted into a Gordian Knot with regulations and cronyism. We're forced to shuffle around pieces of paper as money that is controlled by a monopoly called The Federal Reserve.

That is what has crushed America's greatness. Only the sands of time keep the U.S. government from total bankruptcy. That's the only thing it has left.

Americans do not need a white knight, who can only add to the damage, before that last grain of sand drops. Americans need their liberty back. We need to taste what our ancestors tasted. We've never breathed free air. And with the technology and communication tools that rest on our fingertips, Americans can shake the world once again.

Individual liberty is the only way. There are no shortcuts.

Ron Paul, when running for President, said these iconic words:
"I'm running on the things I don't want to do. I don't want to run your life, I don't know how to run your life, I don't have the authority to run your life, and the Constitution doesn't permit me to run your life!"
Do you know what Donald Trump called Ron Paul?....."A clown-like candidate".

That, right there, shows you where Donald Trump stands on the idea of individual liberty.

  1. Yeah that's all true except it isn't. Trump will be better than Rand.

  2. Trump is right. Ron Paul is a clown from a statist perspective. He doesn't know or care to know the first thing about statist political gamesmanship. He's pathetic at that. An ignoramus.

See, the statement says as much about the frame of reference of the speaker as it does about anything else.

The phrase "I hate you" tells me as much about the "I" as it does the "you."
