Scalia is right: marriage, i.e. govt regulation of relationships, abridges freedom: that's why statists are cheering

Ben Carson is here giving the real libertarian position - unlike the trendy-wendy folks at @reason https://t.co/Bjo3zAWui1

Supremes gay marriage decision: without marriage gays are condemned to "live in loneliness" p. 28 http://t.co/IKBuhbWoCr What nonsense!

Supreme Court decision is really saying "It's ok to be gay." As if we needed the government to tell us that! Which it has no business doing.

Next up: suing to strip churches of nonprofit status because gays can't get married in St. Patrick's cathedral. "Equal protection," folks.

Judge Clarence Thomas, p79 The court "rejects the idea that human dignity is innate ... and suggests instead that it comes from government."

Oh gawd, @DavidCornDC just retweeted my pro-Scalia tweet & legions of sub-literate humorless @MotherJones readers are descending. Hilarious.

I've been "married" for 18 years - but I never asked permission from the government. Keep govt out of the bedroom! https://t.co/cYI7WopxX6

Gay marriage is an absolute legal catastrophe for gay people - and the consequences for religious freedom will be even worse.

Alabama had the right idea

We live in a post constitution era where the line of reasoning by the Supreme Court justices is incomprehensible, except when you accept the idea that they are leading us towards a society with deep, and pervasive control of every aspect of human existence.
ReplyDeleteJustin!! The GAY AVENGER!!
ReplyDeleteHe's absolutely right (as usual). Nobody's business but their own.
Like RP said, get the Gummint out of marriage. If you want joint property, draw up a contract. No need to bring GOD into it.
Likewise if you want to engage in a sacrament of religion, no need to bring Uncle into THAT.
Whatever happened to "separation of Church and State"?
Justin's wonderful indeed. Government has already ruined straight marriage with no-fault divorce and its involvement here will likely make a mess as well. Hopefully he stays strong and sticks to his guns in the face of the mob unlike a certain other avenger we all know.
DeleteI wonder how long it will be before the first gay man (or lesbian woman) will curse their ex-spouse and the damn justice system for making him/her pay alimony out the nose. Welcome to marriage, guys.
ReplyDeleteMy feelings exactly. My marriage doesn't need government approval.
ReplyDeleteThe gay community will regret this.
