Say What? Rand Paul's PAC Has Raised Less Than One Million Dollars

In a political presidential race where several candidates are sure to raise hundreds of millions of dollars, the Rand Paul PAC according to one report has raised less than one million dollars.

David Weigel, the Bloomberg columnist, who has been spot on in his coverage of the Rand Paul campaign, wrote on Friday:
America’s Liberty PAC has not been a major player in campaigns. In the 2014 cycle, the Virginia-based group made just one independent expenditure, for North Carolina candidate Greg Brannon’s failed Senate bid. This year it has relaunched as a pro-Rand Paul PAC, chaired by Campaign for Liberty president John Tate, but its fundraising has stayed in the six-figure range.
I am not sure from where Weigel gets his information but he is too good of a reporter to not have a solid source before writing this.

This Weigel report supports my suspicion that Rand is having serious money raising problems, although technically the PAC is separate from Rand.

  1. Lester Maddox with his ax handle gravitas had a brilliant marketing symbol when compared to Rand Paul's WWF cartoon video aimed at Republican whales, sadly the Paul name is becoming the real cartoon in this political season.
