Progressive Cognitive Dissonance on Ferguson

By James Ostrowski
The left or progressive reaction to Ferguson is fascinating and illuminating.  Progressives place great faith in government to solve problems and improve society.  The police, courts and prosecutors are each government bureaucracies. The grand jury, although made up of private citizens is, unfortunately, administered and controlled by the above agencies and applies statutes enacted by the state legislature, yet another government agency.  Though progressives are sharply critical of how these government agencies acted in the Ferguson episode, there has been no apparent admission or recognition that, from their point of view, government failed twice in Ferguson, first in killing a man and second by failing to prosecute. Nor is there any move to reduce the power of any of these government agencies they believe failed here.
Typically for progressives, they instead seek

How Lucky Is Iraq To Have Been Liberated Twice?

By Chris Rossini

1917 - F.S. Maude, Lieutenant-General, Commanding the British Forces in Iraq
"Our military operations have as their object, the defeat of the enemy and the driving of him from these territories...our armies do not come into your cities and lands as conquerors or enemies, but as liberators..."
2003 - U.S. Senator John McCain
"[T]here's no doubt in my mind that we will prevail and there's no doubt in my mind, once these people are gone, that we will be welcomed as liberators."
That the British and U.S. governments care so much about the Iraqi people that over 1 million Iraqis have been killed (at least 500,000 of which were children) **and** to turn the place into a complete wasteland....

Now that's some special liberation love.

WapO used a Freedom of Information Act request to get an inside look at just what it takes to get Hillary Clinton to come speak at your university, beyond her fee of  $300,000, which is apparently the “special university rate.”

The New Yorker Frames It For The State

By Chris Rossini

Here's next week's cover of The New Yorker:

To begin with, readers need to know that the image is of St. Louis.

Since everything is The State and nothing is outside of The State, the illustrator depicts a giant state boondoggle (i.e., monument) with a government shrine located underneath, front and center.

As we all know, in the St. Louis area, **a government employee** recently shot and killed an unarmed teenager.

The New Yorker does not create a cover depicting Government Employees vs. The Serfs.

Instead, the mouthpiece rag goes with Black People vs. White People.

At a $6.99 price tag, you're better off using your depreciated dollars to buy a Yo-Yo.

New Rand Paul Book Coming

Rand Paul is working on a new book that will come out early next year - about the same time he will decide whether to run for president, reports  The Courier Journal.

"Just coincidence, probably just coincidence, yeah," Rand n said, chuckling in a recent interview with The Courier-Journal.

The publisher has not yet announced the upcoming book and Paul was reluctant to share the working title.

"Beyond the left-right paradigm kind of thing," the senator elaborated.

MAYHEM: Protesters Arrested En Route to Thanksgiving Day Parade

A group of NYC-Ferguson protesters marched south from the New York Public Library and turned right on 37th Street toward Seventh Avenue about 9:30 a.m. – but then tried to make a U-turn toward the Thanksgiving Day parade route.

“We will not tolerate, under any circumstances, any effort to disrupt this parade,” NYPD police commissioner William Bratton said Thursday morning.

“This is a national event, a historic event. Anybody who would seek to interrupt it would be callous, indeed, on this very special day."

Protesters were planning to shut the parade down,

What Walter Block Gives Thanks For This Thanksgiving

Walter Block emails:
I’m thankful that things are no worse than they are. Thank goodness we don’t get as much government as we pay for. A lot of the money going to them is wasted; happily. So, they can’t ruin the economy as efficiently as they could were they but more assiduous. Let’s have a drink to lazy bureaucrats and politicians.

Massive Calls for Disruption of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade

Individuals who have no understanding of the difference between the coercive nature of government and the voluntary nature of free exchange are calling for a violent halt to the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.

NyPo reported on a meeting of disrupters  last night:
“The police aren’t going to arrest us and they are not going to shoot us,” an organizer who calls himself “Magiq” boasted to a group of two dozen rabble-rousers at a Union Square planning session Wednesday night.
“They’re walking right by us now with their heads down and their tails between their legs,” Magiq, 27, of Brooklyn taunted as scores of cops watched the group from across 14th Street...
Under the direction of lefty NYC Mayor DeBlasio orders went out during recent nights of protest to limit arrests. From NyPo:
Sources said Mayor de Blasio ordered the NYPD to give a free ride to the mobs that blocked the Lincoln Tunnel, Brooklyn Bridge and other major thoroughfares Tuesday night.
“It’s coming from City Hall,” a source said. “We’re being told if it’s only traffic violations, don’t do anything.”
“How times have changed. Under [Ray] Kelly and [Mike] Bloomberg, this would never happen,” said another source.
“It’s hands-off police tactics. Welcome to our new world,” yet another source said about the NYPD under Commissioner Bill Bratton.
 #stoptheparade is blowing on Twitter:

  1. My kids really want to see this parade but if they they will see history first hand.

  1. How appropriate, almost poetic, that the holiday based on racism will be stopped in its tracks by marches against racism.

I support the hell out of this. Make people stop and listen! Make history!

This is about more than a parade, an event, holiday—it's about shutting down the racist, capitalist colonial system.

I really hope protestors tomorrow. New York City, I have faith in you.
I would LOVE to see folks protesting the in NYC, disrupt the Macy's Day Parade.

to would be glorious, I hope this happens. This is no time for parades.

People who object to are actually telling us that their amusement is worth more than our lives. Think on that.

everyone should tweet shut down the macy's parade dont let them cover up freguson with a holiday based on murder
