How Lucky Is Iraq To Have Been Liberated Twice?

By Chris Rossini

1917 - F.S. Maude, Lieutenant-General, Commanding the British Forces in Iraq
"Our military operations have as their object, the defeat of the enemy and the driving of him from these territories...our armies do not come into your cities and lands as conquerors or enemies, but as liberators..."
2003 - U.S. Senator John McCain
"[T]here's no doubt in my mind that we will prevail and there's no doubt in my mind, once these people are gone, that we will be welcomed as liberators."
That the British and U.S. governments care so much about the Iraqi people that over 1 million Iraqis have been killed (at least 500,000 of which were children) **and** to turn the place into a complete wasteland....

Now that's some special liberation love.
