Dear Bob,
I participated in the October 23, 2015 “Libertarian Angle,” webinar sponsored by the Future of Freedom Foundation, with the Foundation’s president, Jacob G. Hornberger, on the topic: “Gun Control and the Holocaust.”
We discussed whether or not wider gun ownership during the tragedy of the Second World War in Europe might have enabled a greater degree of self- and community defense against the onslaught of the Nazi threats against human lives.
For instance, in April 1943, the Nazi leadership ordered that the Jewish Ghetto in Warsaw was to be emptied. But when the German Army attempted to do so, many of the remaining 70,000 Jews in the Ghetto resisted with only a handful of armaments and makeshift weapons. They held off the German forces for an entire month, tying down thousands of German military personal before, finally, being defeated.
What if Jews, Poles, Czechs, and many others throughout occupied Europe had been able to legally possess firearms before the war began, with individuals and households well armed and knowledgeable in their use? The cost in German lives from Nazi invasion ad brutality could have been much higher, the war might have been shortened, and some, maybe many, of Hitler’s murdered victims may have lived and survived the cataclysm of that terrible war.

Maybe if they didn’t have to worry about 270 mn-310 mn privately owned handguns, police could be slower on the trigger.

Yes, millions of peaceful gun owners are to blame for a government employee killing (not crippling) a teenager who did not have a gun.
It's the other gun owners, and not "Blue Privilege".
