Pamela Karlan |
By Robert Wenzel
Well, this, I didn't expect.
The Democrats managed to find a crazed-lefty constitutional law professor from Stanford to testify before the House Judiciary Committee to buttress the case for impeaching President Trump.
I expected somber left-leaning scholars who would spin constitutional interpretations in favor of impeachment à la television legal personality, Andrew Napolitano.
You see, the problem is, as I have explained, once you go beyond the Democratic left, no one is buying the case for the impeachment of President Trump. The weak support for impeachment opens up the Republican-controlled Senate to go after the impeachment case, if it passes the House, and destroy Democrats in the process. Hunter Biden, Joe Biden, Adam Schiff, please raise your right hands.
The House Judiciary Committee hearing, with constitutional scholars testifying, was a Hail Mary pass attempt to somehow move the impeachment meter significantly in the direction of impeachment.
I expected it to be boring and fail.
It has failed but thanks to Stanford Law Professor Pamela Karlan, it was far from boring.
Karlan, who self identifies as a "snarky, bisexual, Jewish women," reeks of lefty hate for Trump (Her partner is author Viola Canales, author of The Tequila Worm).
In her crazed hate for anything Trump, she made, well, in snarky style, the name of President Trump's 13-year old son, Barron, part of her testimony.
This is all the Republicans needed. The snark revealed the elitist lefty she is.
Why in the hell would you bring the name of a 13-year old into a congressional hearing in a snarky manner if you weren't clueless about family and decency? Just listen to this, it was clearly a setup question and answer but you really have to be way out of touch to think this is going to go well anywhere but in extreme lefty country:
With this madness, the sympathetic figure, Melania Trump, entered Twitter:Holy cow. Democrat "witness" Pamela Karlan invokes President Trump's son Barron... "the President can name his son Barron, he can't make him a baron."— Liz Wheeler (@Liz_Wheeler) December 4, 2019
3...2...1... til Democrats tell us bringing the President's 13yo son into impeachment is totally cool.pic.twitter.com/t72cj3JlZa
This is damn Shakespearian.A minor child deserves privacy and should be kept out of politics. Pamela Karlan, you should be ashamed of your very angry and obviously biased public pandering, and using a child to do it.— Melania Trump (@FLOTUS) December 4, 2019
The mainstream media will downplay this, of course, but it is too big to completely ignore and it will do nothing but solidify Trump's base and provide the support for Trump amongst potential wayward Republican senators.
I have never held much respect for the intellect of the Democratic members of the House but, if they vote for impeachment and send this to the Republican-controlled Senate to have a go at it, the only thing you can conclude is that they are so dense that their thinking must be clouded because they took all the vaccinations that government agencies told them they should take.

All opinion no facts. That was what I heard from Karlan. But I only heard the last few minutes of her testimony.
ReplyDeleteHouse Democrats were already handing Trump a re-election gift with this impeachment farce. And now, House Democrats are providing cover to both hardcore and marginal Trump supporters via criticism of his son Barron.
ReplyDeleteThe way things are going, Democratic presidential nominees should probably suspend their campaigns immediately.
Meh.
ReplyDeleteWe is unimpressed.
At bottom Donald is an authoritarian/fascist not a constitutionalist. He believes in the Divine/Imperial Right of Presidents, if not Guverment, just like the even more demented Dims do.
IOW in principle it's OK if our side does it.
You wanna be the Duke of Earl?
Hey, no prob.
You mean tin plated dictator
DeleteDumb question, but since the Constitution grants the "sole" power of impeachment to the House, why is it that these idiots (I mean the Democrats running this side-show) need to bring in "experts" to explain impeachment to them? I mean, I'm not a rocket scientist, but I think I could figure this out.
ReplyDeleteWhat a circus!
They probably already know the direction their headed, and they want to have the pretext in place for the public's benefit. Sort of like Stalin's show trials.
Delete*They're*.... Ugh.
DeleteShe is just another aging wine box hobgoblin who knows a man like Trump would not give her a looksy or any other man for that matter except a mangina if she were lucky. That's probably why she is a dyke and most dykes are sexually repulsive.
ReplyDeleteIt's fun watching the Dems self destruct here. Too bad Biden can't be there to talk about his hairy legs or handing phonographs to ghetto children so they can learn English instead of Ebonics.
