Tulsi Gabbard Announces She is Running for President in 2020

Tulsi Gabbard
MULTIPLE UPDATES BELOW

This is a developing story. Return to this post for updates.

UPDATE 1

Rep. Tulsi Gabbard (D-Hawaii) said Friday she has decided to run for president in 2020.

"I have decided to run and will be making a formal announcement within the next week," she told CNN's Van Jones in an interview set to air Saturday, The Hill reports.

UPDATE 2

"There are a lot of reasons for me to make this decision," Gabbard explained.

"There are a lot of challenges that are facing the American people that I'm concerned about and that I want to help solve," she said.

UPDATE 3

RW note: Remember, she is going to be terrible on economics and many other issues. But she is very strong on an anti-interventionist US foreign policy.

And I think she is going to surprise on a lot of domestic issues.

UPDATE 4

Gabbard is a 37-year-old lawmaker and first Hindu member of Congress and serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.

UPDATE 5

"There is one main issue that is central to the rest, and that is the issue of war and peace," she added in the CNN interview. "I look forward to being able to get into this and to talk about it in depth when we make our announcement."

UPDATE 9

Tulsi has the right kind of enemies:

Gabbard has lost the support of a Hawaii teacher’s union

From HuffPost:

“I think that after seeing [Gabbard’s] continued lack of fighting for human and civil rights, that this was — for our members across the state — enough was enough,” The Hawaii State Teachers Association [ President Corey Rosenlee] said.

  1. This makes things for 2020 so very much more interesting.

  2. As I said before, once the deep state meets with Gabbard in their typical blinds-drawn, late night meeting, she will realize lone wolfs, such as Lee Harvey Oswald, really travel in packs. With that knowledge, she will modify her foreign policies.

    1. If she ever gets to the point of being elected (long shot, all things considered) her choice in cabinet members will tell us what is what. Just like Trump.

  3. An anonymous "Remember JFK click" phone call will be all that is needed.
