The Very Strange PR Effort Surrounding George Papadopoulos

Simona Mangiante
George Papadopoulos is the low-level Trump-campaign foreign-policy adviser volunteer arrested by the FBI as part of the investigation being conducted by special prosecutor Robert Mueller.

He has pled guilty to lying to the FBI and is now cooperating with Mueller investigation.

Recently his fiancee, Simona Mangiante, was interviewed by George Stephanopoulos of ABC News. At my post which contains a youtube video of the interview, a commenter adds:
Actual girlfriend or deep state operative? I'm thinking the latter.
During the interview, Mangiante claims she speaks no Russian, though she does have features that closely resemble those of Russians. Following the interview, Stephanopoulos added that she was Italian.

Whatever is going on with Mangiante, it is interesting that she did this interview, where she tells us Papadopoulos is a patriot and that he wants to be on the right side of history.

It is highly unlikely that this interview was done without the approval of the FBI.

Cooperating witnesses do not go to the bathroom without the permission of the FBI, much less send their fiancees out on national television as character witnesses. It looks to me like the Mueller team is polishing  Papadopoulos' image up for something big that will drop.

  1. I would have thought that the unmasking of the Trump Dossier hoax would have put an end to all this nonsense. But apparently Mueller is determined to bring down Trump, or at least hamstring him for the rest of his administration. Meanwhile Jeff Sessions is still MIA.

    1. Indeed. On this topic Wenzel is clearly thinking three moves ahead.
