An Impressive Interview: Jennifer Burns on Ayn Rand

Russ Roberts in his podcast series EconTalk recently interviewed Jennifer Burns about her book, Goddess of the Market: Ayn Rand and the American Right. Burns comments here are fascinating. I learned a lot about Rand that I didn't know before.

And Roberts is
a decent interviewer. He is a bright guy that actually seems to read the books of authors before he interviews them. That said, you are going to have to tolerate some subtle short snide remarks during the interview from Roberts about reason, Ludwig von Mises and Murray Rothbard.

At one point he says he never learned much from Mises but in the next breath says he hasn't read much Mises at all. Go figure.So Burns is the reason you want to listen to this interview,

As for her, she is very impressive during the interview. I was only disappointed to hear she is doing her next book on Milton Friedman. She strikes me as the type of biographer that could do a great job on the much more interesting Murray Rothbard. Maybe it will be her next project,
