Rand Paul Endorses Kane for Mayor

Glenn Jacobs during his wrestling years.
Senator Rand Paul has endorsed Glenn Jacobs aka Kane, for the position of Mayor of Knox County, Tennessee.

Jacobs has compared his libertarian Republican philosophy to that of Rand, Reps. Justin Amash, and Thomas Massie. That seems libertarian-litish for anyone keeping track at home.

Two other challengers are reportedly expected to run for Knox County’s open mayor’s seat namely County Commissioner Bob Thomas and Knox County Sheriff Jimmy Jones. The mayoral general election takes place on May 1st, 2018.

  1. It'll be interesting to see how consistent Kane is in his libertarian views as a politician. As far as I know Rand Paul, Justin Amash and Thomas Massie have never self-identified as Rothbardian Anarcho-Capitalists but Glenn Jacobs has.

Most people have never heard of Murray Rothbard, so I don't mind if he compares himself to the most libertarian politicians in Washington, because he needs to give people some kind of reference point in describing his ideology. I sure hope he governs more radically than those men.

  2. I'm beginning to think Wenzel will never be satisfied. This is a great thing. Maybe in a decade we can have Kane in the Senate or Congress. Libertarian-litish or not, who cares? He has actually read Rothbard and supports the Mises institute. What more do you want? Seriously though? Rand, Amash and Massie are really the only voices we have in office right now. Nobody is perfect but a step in the right direction should be supported by libertarians. We don't need to be splitting hairs.
