|The inside scoop is that Jim Jordan is too much of a principled conservative for Trump to break.|
A D.C. insider tells me that the real reason Trump is attacking the caucus is that he is trying to split it up.
The view is that the key player in the founding of the caucus, Rep. Jim Jordan, is too principled, too difficult, too tough and too smart to break.
The caucus has 30 members. All Trump wants is roughly 15 members to break away and that is enough combined with other Republican member votes to get Trump's agenda through the House.
Expect more attacks on the caucus as Trump tries to force away the weakest members.
