Politician Proposes Seat-Belt Law for Dogs

On Wednesday, one day after the Portland Press Herald story on the bill ran, Maine state Rep. Jim Handy (D) withdrew the bill he had sponsored, which was titled “An Act Concerning the Transporting of Dogs in Passenger Vehicles,” reports The Washington Post.

Good, it appears he got shamed into withdrawing the bill. This should happen to more politicians on more serious issues.
