Trump: Veto UN Security Council Resolution Regarding Israeli Settlements

File under: Foreign entanglements--aggravating the Muslims for no good US realpolitik reason.

President-elect Donald Trump is calling for the U.N. Security Council to veto a draft resolution that calls for an immediate end to Israeli settlement activity on occupied land that Palestinians want for a state.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has pushed for a veto of the measure, which is set for a vote from the 15-member council at 3 p.m. ET today.
"As the United States has long maintained, peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians will only come through direct negotiations between the parties, and not through the imposition of terms by the United Nations," Trump said in a statement. "This puts Israel in a very poor negotiating position and is extremely unfair to all Israelis."

  1. I think the word you're looking for is "appeasing."

What is it, Bob? Government should pass new laws, or not? I thought you liked the idea of gridlock. That's one of, if not the, reasons you "supported" (I know, you didn't really, you "preferred" her) HRC over DJT, isn't it?

I'm at a loss to understand (1) what you mean when you use the word aggravated, (2) why you think passing this measure is absurd and (3) what you hope its passing would accomplish. Should two parties to a dispute settle things between them? Or should an agreement be imposed on them? Okay, that's now (5) things.
