Any politician who is seeking office to "run" the country should be considered armed and dangerous. Do not approach.  That is why they always pose with those affiliated with government enforcement.

The only good politician is the politician who is using his position to educate and promote liberty, e.g. Ron Paul. There aren't many of these.
