Jabari R. Dean Arrested for Making Threat to Kill 16 Whites at University of Chicago

Jabari R. Dean, 21, is alleged to have written on the comments section of a World Star HipHop post that he would shoot 16 white people. One for each bullet that killed 17-year-old Laquan McDonald in October 2014 when he was shot by a Chicago police officer.

The threat came in the comments section for a clip from the 1995 movie Panther. The movie is about the Black Panthers and the group’s leaders, especially Huey P. Newton. The Chicago Tribune reports that the specific clip that Dean is alleged to have commented on showed a group of Black Panthers arming themselves, preparing for an attack on a group of racist cops. Dean studies electrical engineering at the University of Illinois at Chicago, according to his LinkedIn page.
