Donald Trump has jumped to the front of Republicans’ 2016 presidential candidate field nationally in a major new poll. A Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll has found that 19% of Republican primary voters picked Trump as their first choice for president, followed by 15% for Scott Walker and 14% for Jeb Bush,.
The poll found that 10% favored Ben Carson, putting him in fourth place; 9% went for Ted Cruz; 6% for Mike Huckabee; 6% for Rand Paul and 5% for Marco Rubio of Florida.
At the back of the pack, the new poll found that 1% were for Bobby Jindal, 1% for Rick Santorum, and less than 1% for Carly Fiorina.
