On Crimea, Donald Trump says what Rand Paul believes but is too cowardly to say…
This is Europe’s problem, much more than ours, okay? And Europe isn’t complaining as much as we are…this is more of a Europe problem.…We’re making a big deal out of it…we’re like the policeman of the world.
61% of Americans agree…
Most Americans don’t think the U.S. is obliged to intervene in the recent annexation by Russia of the Ukrainian territory of Crimea. A majority of 61 percent of Americans do not think the U.S. has a responsibility to do something.
Pat Buchanan and Ronald Reagan agree…
Reagan took the long view and said ‘you know, I don’t care’…I can’t think of a single American president in the Cold War…who would care a hoot about whether a Russian flag flies over Crimea.
Ron Paul agrees…
So what? Why does the U.S. care which flag will be hoisted on a small piece of land thousands of miles away?
Even Rand Paul agreed– that is, until the one constituency in America that disagrees demanded that he change his opinion.
I’ve been in favor of helping Ukraine with arms and/or monetary support.
Ha! Trump drinks more of Rand's milkshake.
ReplyDeleteWhat Trump says is correct. What I interpret this to mean (since he is an interventionist after all) is that none of his investments or business deals are affected by Crimea joining Russia. So why should he care?
ReplyDeleteOr, his investments and/or business deals are positioned to be advantaged by Crimea joining Russia and he's not going to muck that up.
