A court hearing for former Iowa state Sen. Kent Sorenson was continued Friday until next month.
Earlier this month, Sorenson was arrested and charged after a domestic incident with his wife.
The hearing Friday concerned a no contact order against Sorenson.
Sorenson faces charges of domestic abuse, assault and interference with official acts.
He is also currently awaiting sentencing in federal court after pleading guilty to violating federal campaign laws in the 2012 election, by taking payments from the Ron Paul 2012 presidential campaign.
