SOLVED The Mystery of Rachel Dolezal

By Lew Rockwell and Tom DeLorenzo.

Lew writes:
Why would a young woman leave a life of “white privilege” to be “oppressed”? Because, of course, it’s a great career move.
Tom adds:
Lew, I think your comment also goes a long way toward explaining why the Left is so apoplectic over poor Rachel:  If a woman would abandon “white privilege” to become one of “the oppressed,” why, then the thought might enter some peoples’ minds that maybe not every single black person on the planet (Tiger Woods? Oprah?  Michael Jordan?  Obama?) is a helpless victim of the White Devils who needs constant protecting and coddling by Big Brother.

  1. When Bruce Jenner chooses a different Gender he's "heroic", but when Rachel Dolezal chooses a different Race, she's a Criminal?

  2. Andrew, Bruce did not lie about who he had been or who he wanted to be. Rachel lied about her actual race. It is not the choosing who you want to be that is reprehensible, it is the lying. Also, it is incorrect to say that her choice has been criminalized. No one claims she has violated any criminal law nor will she be charged with any crime. You have mixed up choosing with lying.

  3. Andrew, it was Rachel's lying not choosing that has been condemned. Also, no one is accusing her of any crime.

  4. The entire claim that you can choose your gender is indeed a lie. If you believe that gender is a choice then you must believe that race is a choice. That bruce chose to change his mind about his gender was announced as a "process" that he kept "private". It was a secret. Rachel chose her race and didn't inform anyone of her previous choice. Therefore, it could be the same process that was a private journey that she was not ready to share until her parents forced it.
Anyone saying that bruce didn't lie about his true "gender" needs to explain why he only revealed his true "gender" in his 60's after 3 failed marriages and 6 children. Personally, I feel like bruce hurt more people on his "private journey" than Rachel did. As far as her employers go, it shouldn't be any of their business what her race is.
