Facebook COO's Husband Accidentally Died From Severe Head Trauma While Jogging on a Treadmill

Yesterday, I noted the "sudden death" of David Goldberg, the husband of Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg.

New details are emerging that indicate Goldberg  must have been  using some of Harry Ried's exercise equipment.

First, it turns out the death occurred in Mexico, while Goldberg was on a family vacation.

NYT picks up the story from there:
Mr. Goldberg left his room around 4 p.m. on Friday, collapsed while exercising and died of head trauma and blood loss, said the spokesman. His brother, Robert Goldberg, found him on the floor of the gym at the resort at around 7 p.m., with blood around him. The spokesman said it appeared “he fell off the treadmill and cracked his head open.”

    No doubt some enterprising politician will propose new legislation/regulation requiring alarms, airbags or seatbelts to be installed on all treadmills. Better still, perhaps a mandate requiring human "expert" supervision...Maybe Harry Reid will spearHEAD the project.
