There are several media outlets reporting that a Rand Paul 2016 presidential listing,with the Federal Election Commission is a hoax. It is not, though, the "filing" has a complicated background.
In December 2012/January 2013, a super pac, that goes by the name Human Action Super Pac, filed a Schedule E Form 3x with the FEC in connection with a "Rand Paul 4 President " 2016 bumper sticker campaign.
Because of the filing, the FEC had to create a Rand Paul for president 2016 account. That's why the FEC shows a Rand Paul for president 2016 listing.
Of note, the Human Action Super Pac claims at its web site that it "was founded by the same group that successfully drafted Rand Paul to run for U.S. Senate. "

This is a perfect example of why Rand has no (zero) chance of winning the crown: everything, even something like this requires some sort of explanation. Nothing he does or says or that his supporters say is ever straightforward. It's not worth it trying to figure it all out...
