A soldier was shot at the National War Memorial on Wednesday morning and there are also reports of gunfire inside the halls of Parliament.
These acts took place in the centre of Ottawa, near landmarks like The Chateau Laurier and The Rideau Canal as well as the prime minister’s office and Supreme Court.

Man, this is bad. I've been using the Canadian Parliament as an example of a lovely place with a very non-threatening police presence. Well, scratch that, I guess... :(
