In response to Major League Baseball politicizing the All Star game and pulling it from Atlanta, Murray Sabrin emails:
Players should stick to sports. That's what they get paid to do. If they want to be political activists they should do so on their own time. The hypocrisy is wide and deep. Are ball players refusing to play in Atlanta against the Braves? Will the Braves be forced to move out of state? This is pure wokeism run amuck and it does not end well. After being a nearly 70 year Yankees fan who has watched innumerable TV games, I will no longer watch Yankess' games.
As a lifelong Yankee fan, I'm sick of this and hope that a losing season will lead to the firing of aaron boone along with a season of revenue losses for ownership.
ReplyDeleteThere's no place in sports for politics. A pox on all of these teams and corporations who try to ram this down our throats.
Maybe MLB and the other major league stick and ball leagues should take notice of how one of, if not the, most demanding sports is dealing with politics in Georgia.
ReplyDeleteSaturday the AMA Supercross series ran the first of three races they will have in eight days at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. They still have some of the New Abnormal including reduced seating capacity and maskerading for fans while entering only and for venue and event staff at all times but, no mention of election laws on the Atlanta Motor Speedway or AMA Supercross websites nor was there any mention of it during NBC’s broadcast or in any of the media I have viewed.
