To my Asian friends, it is time to start carrying weapons.
Of course, this won't help you in wacky California:
The 36-year-old Asain an shot into the air four times after seeing an Asian woman being violently robbed, prompting the alleged robber to run away with her camera.
"We don't want our business owners or others to begin to arm themselves," Oakland Police Chief LeRonne Armstrong told reporters.
e said there could be unintended consequences when citizens shoot at alleged criminals, such as striking innocent bystanders or creating confusion when officers arrive on scene and try to identify an assailant. "We want them to observe and report," he added, and "be good witnesses."

"Of course, this won't help you in wacky California". Well, I suppose I'd err on the side of the old adage, "better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6" if I were in the Golden State.
ReplyDeleteThis cop left out that cops are not obligate to protect private people and businesses. That many more crimes are stopped by people with private firearms than by cops. So let’s keep firearms out of the hands of those that actually stop criminals in the act and be good little citizens and leave it to the “authorities” to (fail) to protect us.
ReplyDeleteThe cops want a monopoly on harmful, unintended consequences.
ReplyDeleteBe a good witness to your own murder, right.
"...there could be unintended consequences when citizens shoot at alleged criminals, such as striking innocent bystanders..."
ReplyDeleteWhat a load of dog crap. The police do this far more often than mere civilians ever do. Recall the shooting at the Empire State Building some years ago? It was the police who shot up innocent bystanders.
Regular citizens realize they'll be held responsible for each bullet. It's the cops who are never held responsible.
This crime was of course the effect of white supremacy...
