Marriott Will Stop Political Donations to Some Republicans: The Backstory

Marriott has issued the following statement:

We have taken the destructive events at the Capitol to undermine a legitimate and fair election into consideration and will be pausing political giving from our Political Action Committee to those who voted against certification of the election.

What gives?

I know a bit about the Marriott President and CEO Arne Sorenson. He is dying to get an appointment in the Biden administration.

He is a hardcore lefty. 

He has led his company into advocating for LGBT "rights." In 2016, he announced that he formally opposed Indiana's proposed Religious Freedom Restoration Act s a law in the state of Indiana, which allows individuals and companies to assert as a defense in legal proceedings that their exercise of religion has been, or is likely to be, substantially burdened).

He would do any corporate dog trick to get a taste of political power

So don't be surprised when you hear Sleepy Joe gives him the ambassadorship to Burkina Faso, or somewhere.
