Republican Controlled Senate in Jeopardy; Warnock Wins in Georgia

Raphael Warnock

Late last night, major media outlets projected a Senate win in Atlanta for super-lefty Democrat Raphael Warnock. If Democrat Jon Ossoff beats Georgia Republican Sen. David Perdue, and it appears likely, Democrats will begin Joe Biden’s administration with control of both the House and Senate.

An extremely important roadblock against lefty madness on Capitol Hill is likely gone with the Republican loss of Senate control. To be sure, there is nothing good about the Republican senate other than it is not as severe lefty as a Democratic-controlled senate.

The most important immediate effect is that Biden will be able to fill his cabinet and his administration without major obstacles and the Senate will consider and confirm most of the judges he nominates. These will be rabid lefty judges and will have long term consequences.

To hold the line in gridlock fashion will now fall to a last resort, less radical Senate Democrats, specifically Sens. Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema.

In November, Manchin appeared on Fox News to declare dead several progressive priorities.

“I commit to you tonight, and I commit to all of your viewers and everyone else that’s watching. I want to allay those fears, I want to rest those fears for you right now because when they talk about whether it be packing the courts, or ending the filibuster, I will not vote to do that,” Manchin said in the interview. “I will not vote to pack the courts … and I will not vote to end the filibuster.”

Manchin said that in his estimation, efforts to defund the police and advance “Medicare for All” lacked support among members of the Senate Democratic Conference as well.

“We’ve got to fix the Affordable Care Act,” Manchin said.

But it is going to be bad. Notice, Manchin is against "Medicare for All" but he still wants to "fix" Obamacare.

Manchin may not be the second coming of Mao but he is no Martin Van Buren

  1. In two more weeks when Harris takes office, you lolbertarian retards will have your borderless society you think is amazing. Hopefully Harris relocates every bulb head from Mogadishu into San Francisco so they will all instantly become tech moguls since the Bay Area magic dirt makes everyone there an internet billionaire.

    1. You obviously, although you have been at this site for several years, have zero clue about libertarianism.
Harris relocating people to different areas of the US isn’t a libertarian position. Your the one who puts you faith in politics, maybe you didn’t do enough to get Trump reelected? Did you only vote once? Well only chumps vote once. You republicans play the game, then you whine when you lose.
And you blame libertarians to top it off. Hahaha. What a joke. Well just think you get to do it all over again in 4 years.
Good luck with that. And you are correct, I have been a lolbertarian as of late, laughing at people like you.

    2. You're = you are, as in, "You're a retard if you can't distinguish between an adjective and a contraction."

    3. Neat. I’m on my phone. As my tag says on my email, “sent from my phone which has a mind of its own”.
Typical republican. “You didn’t use a ‘, your vote doesn’t count!”
Oops, it did it again, and I’m going to leave it.
Of course, no comment on what I replied to “you’re” comment?
      Signed, loltarian.

    4. Better translation, I could care less if I missed a ‘. But you care all you want if I did.

  2. How would you respond to the argument that both Republicans and Democrats are bought representatives of overlapping political-financing interests, so regardless of their rhetorical differences, the outcomes have little variance?

I didn't see you in the comments attacking Wenzel. Curious.

    3. Fine point. I actually started one, got a call referring to business, which is more important than a comment, lost what I started, and didn’t feel the need to comment by the time I remembered it, but I don’t agree with that post.
I don’t put my trust in any man and certainly no government. My position on politics is pretty clear. They are all corrupt. The State is evil. If hard times are coming, let me fight instead of kicking the can to my grandchildren, of which I hope to have dozens( I have 8 kids).
I won’t be standing in line to cast a tally for a master, and encourage people to do likewise.
      Now here is my comment.
      Resolve to Serve No More.
Then again, I’m pretty sure I don’t comment on every post, although I do have an opinion on almost everything Bob writes.
And I agree with him almost every time, which is why I come here to read several times daily.
Americans, especially republicans, who I am closer to in my conservative beliefs, need to decide if freedom or union is more important. Why should we have to have a leader we don’t want? Trumpers should have him as president, if they want him, and democrats, who I have zero in common with, should have their own leader.
Separation is the only road to freedom. But, I know way to many good republicans who think union at all cost. The last time that happened, 800,000 Americans lost their lives. Complete insanity.
We can learn or repeat history.
      I choose freedom.
