Trump Covid Vaccine Czar: Long-Term Effects of COVID-19 Not Known

Dr. Moncef Slaoui

He buried the problem with Trump's "Warp Speed" vaccine around a bunch of happy talk but in the end Trump's vaccine czar, Dr. Moncef Slaoui, did reveal the BIG problem.

He said that Pfizer and Moderna’s Covid-19 vaccines are safe, with only 10% to 15% of volunteers reporting side effects that were “significantly noticeable.”

The side effects, which come from the vaccine shots, can last up to a day and a half. The people who’ve suffered from side effects have reported redness and pain at the injection site as well as fever, chills, muscle aches and headaches, he said, adding most people have no noticeable side effects.

“The longer, more important kind of adverse events such as some autoimmune disease or others have not been reported in a different way between the placebo group and the vaccine group in these two trials, which is very reassuring,” he told the Washington Post. “I always make sure we say that [while] we know the short term and I’m going to call it mid-term effects of the vaccine is now well understood, the very long term safety is not yet understood by definition.”

Of note, prior to joining the Trump administration as vaccine czar, the revolving door "We don't know the long term safety" adviser was a member of the Board of Directors at Moderna.

Moderna, along with other vaccine developers, has an exemption by the government for damages as a result of any side-effects from the vaccine.

  1. The word "czar" is overused and has lost its punch. Let's get back to using "tsar," or "caesar." Better yet, just plain "king" or "emperor."
Maybe that small change will drive home to the masses the harmful ramifications upon liberty, of having people with plenary power in charge.
