As I write this, on election night just before midnight eastern time, it remains unclear who has won the presidential race but there is other important election news.
It appears, but not certain. that Republicans will continue to hold the Senate while Democrats will control the House.
Under current conditions, a split Congress where gridlock occurs is perhaps the best that can be expected. The more logjams, the less oppression.
At the same time, no surprise here, the socialists Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez of New York, Ilhan Omar of Minnesota, Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts, and Rashida Tlaib of Michigan have been re-elected. And it appears they won by large margins.
Add to this two more socialists in the House, Jamaal Bowman in New York and Cori Bush in Missouri.

We have dodged a socialist take over of the Senate. Now we can hope that the Donald will be run from town.
