Who Would Be Best For Liberty: Trump Or Biden?

Micah Armantrout emails:

Robert,

Last election you gave your ideas on who would be better for liberty. It was not what I expected. Taking that into consideration. What's you opinion this time around? And why ? Bidens hing doesn't seem to aware of what's going on but maybe you see that as a good thing ?

RW response:

In the last presidential election, my view was that Donald Trump would not be a strong enough advocate for liberty and that the hard left socialists would be able to rally support if Trump won, and boy have we seen that.

There would have been nothing good about Hillary's policies if she had been elected but she is too crony to have gone full socialist and there would have been so much Hillary hate that it would have been a great opportunity for libertarians to move the Hillary haters toward liberty by giving them sound libertarian reasons for hating Hillary. The socialists would be the ones without traction. But that moment never occurred.

This election period things are much different. The socialist advance I had feared is on the offensive and the socialists are very dangerous and everywhere.

Most concerning is that it unclear who is running Joe Biden. Yes, his mental abilities are diminishing but this means there are people behind the curtain running the show and they are very careful not to show their faces.

I suspect some are old-school cronies but others may be serious socialists who just can't wait to get into power with the malleable Biden as the frontman. There is probably a battle behind the scenes in the Biden camp between the cronies and the socialists now, it will only intensify with a Biden victory.

If Biden wins and the socialists gain the upper hand in a Biden administration, it would be ruinous for the country. These people do not play around.

On the other hand, a Trump victory would fuel the radical left and there would certainly be riots across the country. Trump would likely declare a national emergency and put troops on the streets. If the troops were there just to shut down the rioters, I would not have a major objection but Trump is just too erratic. You just never know what direction he will take things.

He is a very-skilled New York City street hustler that does not have the ability to think out long chains of possibilities. I lay the entire COVID-19 lockdown and collapse of the economy at his feet for not properly managing the COVID message before it got out of hand. And his nutty payment of $1,200 to all, plus $600 a week to those that lost their jobs because of the lockdowns, is probably his greatest error in office to date. With everyone at home fat and happy with the Trump checks, there was no pressure from "the people" on state and local government officials to open the country back up. Further, all his nutty bailouts were financed by the Federal Reserve printing money out of thin air--the full price inflationary consequences of which are only starting to develop.

Trump is an erratic confused leader. One minute he is pulling US troops out of hot zones, the next he is ordering some back in. And he is a very bad judge of character.

As Paul Craig Roberts writes:
As I wrote in 2016, Trump had no idea who to appoint to his government. According to FBI Director Christopher Wray, it is Russia, not the Democrats, Antifa, and Black Lives Matter, who “sows divisiveness and discord” among Americans.

Wray says that it is the Russians who “trash Democratic nominee Joe Biden.”

How can Trump hope to survive when he appoints to the FBI, CIA, and Pentagon his enemies?  He appoints enemies to the Department of Justice who somehow just can’t get around to bringing charges to all the establishment folks who tried to frame President Trump with Russiagage and Impeachgate.

By falsely alleging that it is Russians who trash Biden, Trump’s own appointee to the head of the FBI has, in effect, declared Trump’s trashing of Biden to be the work of a Russian agent. In the Trump Administration, Trump has brought his enemies within the gate.

When you look at Trump’s government, he has surrounded himself with enemies.

My guess is that we are in for four bad years regardless of who is elected but I would rather see an erratic Trump in office, it won't be good at all, but a Joe Biden presidency with skilled socialist operatives behind the curtains really scares me.

In short, neither is good for liberty, but Biden could be much worse.

I sure hope the Republicans hold the Senate if Biden gets elected. They are pretty much incompetent when it comes to protecting liberty but at least it would be some resistance to all-out Biden lefty rule.

  1. Neither, since Team Soros will go nuts either way. If Trump wins, cities will burn, innocents will be assaulted, and deep state election result obfuscation will go to DEFCON-1. If Ms. Barely-Black, Slave Owner, Slept Her Way To The Top becomes president, prog/left nation will go full retard. Trump had better put Judge Andrew Napolitano into SCOTUS asap, and give his secret service agents an armored carrier.

  2. If the left becomes violent with a Trump win, maybe this is a great opportunity for the country to break up. I'd love to send all of our illegals and child molesters, and welfare cases and other human debris to NY, CA, MN and any other left wing shit hole.

  3. Neither. Both are enemies to liberty. Jo Jorgensen would be best for Liberty

    1. When she implements racial justice? Are you kidding me? Now she would probably be better than either of these 2, but I wouldn’t trust her or expect liberty to be advanced at all with her in office.
The best choice is to eliminate the presidency, which may be more feasible than Jo winning if.

    2. And replace the POTUS with what?

    3. Absolutely nothing. The original colony/states didn’t have a president for 11 years and they did just fine. The president has become more powerful than a king ever dreamed of being. Force both houses to take the responsibilities that they have given over to the president, which takes away their excuse they have to blame the president for everything. Then they get held accountable.
Of course I would prefer to get rid of the whole federal government, but getting rid of the presidency would be a good start. And would stop a lot of division that the country has now. And would maybe lead to states seceding into their own confederations. Which would end the empire.
I am quite certain the American people could not only survive not having a president, but thrive.
      Down with the presidency!

  4. It’s a shit sandwich. I don’t see the mass movement needed to resist the radicals. I am suspect their plan of stacking the English and humanities departments with Marxist has finally
Gotten them where they want to be.

Going to be a long road back to a more moderate government. Trump really brought out the crazy

  6. I think it was Ron Paul who said (paraphrased) that Republicans and Democrats are two sides of the same coin.
Both candidates suck. Both parties suck. And the Libertarian leader is spineless.
Though Trump is probably a bit better then Biden.
