Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Defeats Candidate Heavily Supported By Wall Street

Democratic socialist Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez on Tuesday won the 2020 Democratic primary in New York's 14th district, which means she is very likely to win her November re-election bid since there is no significant Republican presence in the district.

AOC's most formidable opponent in the primary was Michelle Caruso-Cabrera, a former CNBC correspondent.

Caruso-Cabrera received heavy backing by Wall Street donors in her bid to defeat AOC but in the end that was not enough to knock AOC out of the game.

AOC was crowing last night and in typical socialist manner was promising the masses all kinds of things she can't possibly deliver on:

Wall Street CEOs, from Goldman Sachs to Blackstone, poured in millions to defeat our grassroots campaign tonight.

But their money couldn’t buy a movement.

You have to be a very special politician to defeat a socialist like AOC who is popular with the masses.

Early results showed AOC with 73 percent of the ballots cast in her favor with 74 percent of precincts reporting.
