Down Goes the Bush Dynasty

Pierce Bush
Republican Pierce Bush, a grandson of former President George H.W. Bush, failed to advance out of Tuesday’s primary in his bid for a Houston congressional seat, becoming the first member of his family to lose a race in Texas in more than 40 years.

According to the New York Post,  Bush 34, was endorsed by the outgoing GOP incumbent, Rep. Pete Olson, and raised more money than many of the other 14 candidates in the field.

Troy Nehls and Kathaleen Wall, staunch defenders of President Trump, advanced instead to the runoff, the Post notes.

  1. I went to a Q&A that included 4 of the lesser known Republicans that were running for that seat. There were 13 Republicans running in total. People there were complaining that Bush moved to the district recently for the sole purpose of running for the seat and felt like he was an interloper.

  2. Bush Jr. Lost a congressional election once too. It doesn't mean much, these people are in it for the long haul.
