  2. Fantastic. At 3:25 he provides more rationale for pushing for a separation of Science and State (and more broadly, separation of Education and State).

    1. Yet he can do no more than plead for a "better way" to fund research scientists. The true economic value of researchers and educators is best reflected in the old story of Sleepy Hollow. Ichabod Crane was the local schoolmaster who traveled from town to town. And the farmers offered him room and board for his services. I suspect that todays free market values them much the same on a relative basis. And I am sure that many researchers and educators realize this and will never agree to a separation of government and education or research. If it is to be done it must be done by those footing the bill. But taxpayers have their own conflicted interests and so the theft continues.
