Bernie Sanders Raises $10 Million in Less Than a Week

Update below: Bernie and his chartered jets.

By Robert Wenzel

The socialists continue on the march during the reign of the combover man.

After less than a week as a presidential candidate, Bernie Sanders has collected $10 million from 359,914 donors, campaign officials report.

But get this: Nearly 39 percent of those donors used an email address that had never before been used to give to Sanders. That is, a good chunk of the people are new donors to Sanders.

For comparison, Sanders raised $5.9 million in his first day as a candidate, nearly 20 times what Senator Elizabeth Warren did in her first day and nearly four times more than Senator Kamala Harris’s $1.5 million.

The ancient socialist is a powerhouse.

Here is what should be of concern to libertarians. The New York Times reports:
An internal analysis showed more than 108,000 of Mr. Sanders’s first day contributors were 39 years old or younger, and they gave a combined $2.5 million of the $5.9 million raised. The most common age for a Sanders contributor was 30.
The kids are turning socialist---and it has a lot to do with the confused view held by them that President Trump represents capitalism. They don't want to have anything to do with Trump and, therefore, from their perspective, they don't want to have anything to do with capitalism. It is very shallow thinking, but it is moving the tide toward socialism. Libertarians should be attacking Trump unmercifully whenever he does something non-libertarian so the kids can learn of an alternative to Trump that is not socialism.

UPDATE

A typical socialist leader, living well above the masses--with excuses.

The New York Post reports:

A spokesman for Bernie Sanders lashed out at Hillary Clinton’s ex-staffers Monday for leaking a story about how the Vermont Socialist had demanded fossil fuel-guzzling private jets while campaigning for Clinton in 2016.

Michael Briggs, Sanders’ 2016 campaign spokesman who often traveled with Sanders on the private flights, told Politico that Clinton and her staff were “total ingrates” in light of the Herculean effort the Vermont senator put in to try to help her win...

“I’m not shocked that while thousands of volunteers braved the heat and cold to knock on doors until their fingers bled in a desperate effort to stop Donald Trump, his Royal Majesty King Bernie Sanders would only deign to leave his plush DC office or his brand new second home on the lake if he was flown around on a cushy private jet like a billionaire master of the universe,” Zac Petkanas, director of rapid response for the Clinton campaign, told Politico.

After Sanders endorsed Clinton and agreed to campaign for her, it quickly became clear that Sanders liked to fly in style, the website reported, citing six ex-Clinton staffers and another source...

Sanders’ flights — usually on a Gulfstream plane — cost the Clinton-Kaine campaign at least $100,000 in total, according to three sources familiar with the cost, the website reported.

“We would try to fight it as much as possible because of cost and availability of planes, but they would request [a jet] every time,” one of the sources said.

  1. Shouldn't Sanders be re-distributing these campaign funds to all other candidates, in the name of "equality"?
