Super-Lefty NYC Mayor Not Ruling Out 2020 Presidential Bid

Bill de Blasio
New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio said Sunday he wouldn’t rule out a 2020 presidential bid, adding he wanted to push the Democratic Party to the left, reports The Wall Street Journal.

This guy is really bad news and it does look like he is attempting to determine if he can gain any national traction.

During the CNN interview, de Blasio said that the Democratic Party was going through a serious debate. “There are still a lot of moderate voices in the party that did not learn the lessons of 2016 and are not listening to what people need in this country,” he said. “I want to push this whole party, and I want to inform this debate in this country about the fact that we could go a lot farther, we can be a lot bolder than what we’re doing now.”

Apparently, he didn't get the memo that lefty Hillary lost.

The Journal informs:
His statements capped a week in which he introduced policy proposals with what appeared to be an eye toward the national stage. One plan would expand health-care options for uninsured and undocumented residents. He also proposed legislation that would require employers to provide 10 days of paid time off a year, making New York City the first in the U.S. to mandate this type of leave.
The mayor last week also said that he would embark on a national tour to “preach the gospel” of liberal governance.

And at his State of the City address, he sounded like the second coming of Fidel Castro. He said, “Here’s the truth, brothers and sisters, there’s plenty of money in the world. Plenty of money in this city. It’s just in the wrong hands!”

  1. "Here’s the truth, brothers and sisters, there’s plenty of money in the world. Plenty of money in this city. It’s just in the wrong hands!”

It's easy to read through the lines on this. He clearly does not mean taxing or otherwise confiscating the wealth of the crony classes that support him. So that only leaves the middle and upper middle classes.
