Turkey Tells U.S. Officials It Has Tapes of Washington Post Columnist’s Murder

Saudi Crown Prince Muhammed bin Salman
By Robert Wenzel

President Trump is very bad at picking people to work for him. But his worst mistake, along with that of his son-in-law Jared Kushner, may have been his move to get close to the sloppy, impulsive madman Saudi Crown Prince Muhammed bin Salman, who appears to have ordered the murder of Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi.

Journalists have been killed before but never with footprints tracking back to a national leader who ordered the hit. Suspicions, yes. But never a direct link. And certainly not the killing of a columnist of a mainstream paper of the global Empire. Terrorists in backwoods do this but not a major leader. But MBS is reckless, crazed and sloppy.

In November of last year, I wrote in the EPJ Daily Alert:

As I write, oil futures have advanced 2.79 percent in New York today following the weekend purge in Saudi Arabia by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

West Texas Intermediate for December delivery rose $1.56 to $57.19 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

The purge should come as no surprise to ALERT readers, since King Salaman named his son as heir to the throne. I have detailed the ruthless and reckless personality of MBS.
This weekend we learned how ruthless and reckless the Crown Prince can be.

It is utterly remarkable that billionaire investor Prince Alwaleed bin Talal was among those arrested over the weekend. Alwaleed holds major stakes in among others, Citigroup, Twitter, and Apple. He is very close to the US establishment. The establishment cannot be happy about this move. MBS has removed Alwaleed and all their other close contacts in this purge.
The bank accounts of all those detained have been frozen at the instruction of the central bank, according to several reports.

Meanwhile, as I report at Target Liberty, last week Jared Kushner made a secret trip to the kingdom where he is said to have "stayed up until nearly 4 a.m. several nights, swapping stories and planning strategy," with MBS.

Trump on Saturday made an unusual call to the Saudi king reportedly congratulating him on his "modernization plans."...

As Al Jazeera notes:

The 32-year-old Bin Salman shows that he is willing to throw the entire region into jeopardy to wear the royal crown.

His actions have already all but destroyed the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC); Yemen can no longer be referred to as a functioning state; Egypt is a ticking time bomb; and now Lebanon may erupt.

There is an incredible number of developments in a very short period, These very bold moves by the young Crown Prince... signals that MBS is going to escalate with Iran. Trump is certainly on board.

This is an extremely unstable situation.

At the time, Trump tweeted full support for the Saudi King and MBS after the insane purge:

The MBS connection could become the real undoing of Trump. Mainstream media is not going to forget the killing of one of its own and that Trump and Kushner are close to MBS, it makes it way too convenient to tie the three of them together and deliver them on a silver platter to the masses.

Here's the latest from The Washington Post:
The Turkish government has told U.S. officials that it has audio and video recordings that prove Washington Post columnist Jamal Khashoggi was killed inside the Saudi consulate in Istanbul this month, according to U.S. and Turkish officials.

The recordings show that a Saudi security team detained Khashoggi in the consulate after he walked in Oct. 2 to obtain an official document before his upcoming wedding, then killed him and dismembered his body, the officials said.

The audio recording in particular provides some of the most persuasive and gruesome evidence that the Saudi team is responsible for Khashoggi’s death, the officials said...

“You can hear his voice and the voices of men speaking Arabic,” this person said. “You can hear how he was interrogated, tortured and then murdered.”

  1. Someday soon the Turks and the Persians are going to bitch slap the Arabs right back into the desert.

    1. Not as long as they follow “the Prophet”. Persians at least have a strong cultural substratum of Zoroastrianism (which influeneces their Twelver brand of Shiism) coupled with a long history predating Islam which has resisted complete Arabization, but the Turks of Asia Minor are Arabized in eveything but language.

    2. Speaking as a Sunni - the House of Saud is the majority of what's wrong in the middle east. Alas, without Western support (oil & anti-persian alliance), their dated wahhabist ideology, warmongering, and terrorist attacks would have never come to fruition.

Being antagonistic against the Persians is not worth the price the world, especially Yemenis, are paying.

  2. who murders a journalist with ties to Washington in their own consulate? which is not designed to be a jail.
all we have is a missing person at the moment. and when those pointing fingers are just as dodgey as those shrugging and claiming we know nothing.

  3. Cui bono?
That is the article I'd rather read. I am sure there are factions fighting to prevent MBS from running the show. Could this be a well orchestrated political hit job?
I find it hard to believe that they could be so sloppy.
