Proud Boys Beat Protesters After Gavin McInnes Event At Manhattan GOP Club

UPDATE below: Three arrested

Proud Boys, a pro-Trump group, appears to have beaten a small group of  Antifa protesters in the streets of Manhattan on Friday night, following an appearance at the Metropolitan Republican Club by Proud Boys founder Gavin McInnes.

After the attack, members of the Proud Boys posed for a group photo, according to photographer Shay Horse, who was at the scene. "I haven’t seen a fight that violent in a long time," he tweeted. "The proud boys were totally ready and willing to be violent tonight. They didn’t even wear masks."

There is nothing libertarian about either of these groups, they are both power seekers who want to control statist power. Libertarians are about shrinking statist power.

UPDATE:

Via CBS New York:

Three people were arrested in New York City following violent clashes after a speech by the founder of a far-right group, and police say they are reviewing video and may make additional arrests.

According to authorities, Finbarr Slonim, Kai Russo, and Caleb Perkins were taken into custody after police arrived at the Metropolitan Republican Club around 8 p.m. on Friday...

The NYPD says it’s unclear if the three men arrested were affiliated with either group, and added the department is reviewing video and will make other arrests “as warranted.”

    1. The guy on the far left didn't get the memo about the hand signal.

  4. Good stuff. PBs are the frontlines against leftist scum. Libertarians were in that fight, and they are the real heroes of our movement.

    1. I don't know what lies at the far end of the coming street fights, but it won't be freedom.

    2. If you support Trump in the slightest, you're not libertarian. Newsflash: these guys are as libertarian as Stalin.

    3. @mash

Now, now. They only want to ban you from hiring Mexicans and trading with Chinese because they understand freedom so much better than you do (/s)

    4. Many of you would curl into the fetal position against the Left, but we are better off that the PBs won't.

  5. Isn’t that the sign of the 3 percenters? The Patriot movement folks who see themselves as the new 3 percent that fought the American Revolution?

  6. I've read Gavin McInnes's articles over the years from time to time, listened to some of his interviews and podcasts, and even bought an absolutely hilarious (yet profane) book he wrote ("How to Piss in Public")...and I've never seen even a glimmer of "white power" bigotry, anywhere. Maybe I'm not current enough or hip enough, but I just find him funny and refreshingly honest and outspoken.

  7. I agree. No "white power" in him, at all. Polar opposite of guys I hung with at the hard core shows. Basically, all there to be "brawlers" but he wasn't with the nationalists.

However, like Tom Woods, I slowly changed to more of a neo-con as I reached voting age. Then, with the help of one of my friends, eventually found Lew Rockwell and Bob Wenzel. Hat tip to Shawn.

Like Mr. Wenzel says...its weak grounding in non-aggression principles. When my friend would send me stuff, I would say "we have to fight" and his response was "fight where statists are weak"...the Gary North idea of drowning bureaucrats in letters about the regulations where they are failing. Or, in running for "dog catchers" and bringing in the libertarian bent.

I "enjoy" that Gavin is punching these guys. But, its not the right way to go...gotta be like Gandhi...take it on the chin and eventually you "win" an independent state.

PS: maybe a better example is Ron Paul...get booed at the GOP debate, then four years later everyone says "Oh...that guy was pretty smart. Let's hear more of him." Go Mr. Wenzel...keep up the fight!
