
Self-proclaimed libertarian Peter Thiel is throwing money at Republicans. He dropped $250,000 into President Donald Trump's joint fundraising committee, reports CNBC.
The news came about via a new Federal Election Commission filing.
Thiel made the contribution to the Trump Victory Committee in July.
He was the largest contributor for the quarter. The committee raised just over $2 million from July through late September. It also received big contributions from longtime Trump attorney Marc Kasowitz, who gave $50,000, and United States Steel Corp., which donated $100,000.
On Tuesday, Ken Howery, co-founder of PayPal and a close associate of hiel, was annonced as President Trump’s pick for ambassador to Sweden.
