Okay, I Miss The Comments....

Shutting off the comments did produce the quality Letters to the Editor that I expected but it did cut down on the immediate feedback I was used to getting, so I am turning the comments back on.

However, I am going to be much more strict on
the comments I approve. The attacks on other races, ethnic groups, etc. will be extremely limited. I will let a few through, occasionally. so readers understand how some people really think out there but I don't want someone new to come to a post and think I am hosting a race war at Target Liberty or EconomicPolicyJournal.com.

Also, I will continue to block anonymous posts, and in addition, I am going to block those who come in as "unknown."  If you come in as "unknown" just sign your name or a pen name at the end of your post and I will clear the comment if it is otherwise fine.

I am not interested in who you are as much as I am about your trend of thinking which can only be determined if you identify yourself in someway consistently in your comments.

So you are welcome to try to make it through the new tougher Wenzel barrier but it might be tough for some of you. I reserve the right to block any comment for any reason and I plan on doing so much more often, even if it is just because you annoy me--and that is most often the case when you take something I say out of context to slay a strawman Wenzel and thus mislead new visitors to the site.

  1. Good idea Bob. Frankly, you should have it set up that nobody can post comments if they aren't willing to sign their name to their post. No more handles or alias. If some of these guys want to spend their time calling non white people- 'dirt people' or camel humpers' than they should have the balls to put a name to it so all can see who they are instead of the cowardly way of hiding behind an alias.

  2. Thank you Robert - as a long time reader I stopped visiting your site as frequently. I felt it was not good for the liberty movement and I still feel that there were planted longterm trolls lurking in the comments section to discredit you and the movement. I could be wrong but they do exist and there are many of them

  3. And just when I started to appreciate the full content of your posts without distraction, you had to bring back the comments section which, like a ball of yarn to a cat, captures my attention!

  4. Having your own dedicated trolls is a sign of success, RW.

I love the letters to the editor. The one about the compatibility of different cultures in the real world was a welcome note. I’ve been on both sides of the fence, and I’m glad to see a VERY controversial POV presented.

    Love the comments, though!

  5. I was getting disgusted with some of the racist comments too, so a few weeks ago I went back, like, 10 years (can't remember if it was EPJ or TL), to see what the quality of comments was like before the Trump/Alt-Right Era: The contrast was startling, with a level of discourse and maturity lacking in today's comments section (here, and elsewhere I might add).
BTW, I am not sure if I even know how to convert from "Unknown" to a more proper name or handle. But I'll give it a try.

  6. RW- AIM shut off my account access mysteriously a while back so I stopped commenting. At this point, it is easier for me to comment through the "Anonymous" option and sign my former handle. When you cut off comments I thought you might be in league with the anti-AJ big tech censors... hahaha.... I think... Glad to see you came to your senses and aren't afraid of a little rough and tumble. That being said, I am glad you are taking a harder line with ahem, "management" and hopefully its antithesis with the cartoon monster thing in its avatar. Those two basically took over your comment section and ruined it vs. a few years back.

  7. I was hoping to see a Letter to the Editor from Jerry Wolfgang. He was better than some of the racists here.

  8. I suspect The Lab Manager might have gone the way of the dodo bird, now that his gratuitously offensive, tedious and racist comments will be weeded out.

  9. I don't know whether it's just me or if perhaps everyone else encountering problems with your blog.
It appears as though some of the text on your content are running
off the screen. Can someone else please provide feedback and let me know if this is happening to them too?
This could be a problem with my internet browser because I've had this
    happen before. Appreciate it
