NYT announced on Wednesday that they hired Sarah Jeong to join their editorial board. Jeong previously wrote for the Verge and authored “The Internet of Garbage,” a book about online harassment and free speech.
TDC writes that shortly after Jeong’s hire, Twitter users unearthed old tweets in which she expressed an extreme distaste for white people.
“Dumbass fucking white people marking up the internet with their opinions like dogs pissing on fire hydrants,” she tweeted in 2016.
Another tweet reads,
“oh man it’s kind of sick how much joy I get from being cruel to old white men.”
The New York Times has yet to comment since the unearthing however here is the original NYT press release:

Sarah Jeong is joining The New York Times editorial board. Read more in this note from James Bennet, Katie Kingsbury and Jim Dao:
What would it be like if we all deleted Facebook? What does the future of online privacy look like? Why can’t the tech industry diversify? Are monkeys allowed to sue over copyrights? And what in the world is #cockygate?
To answer questions like these, the editorial board will soon be turning to Sarah Jeong, who will join us in September as our lead writer on technology. Sarah will also collaborate with Susan Fowler Rigetti, our incoming tech op-ed editor, and Kara Swisher, our latest contributor on tech issues.
Sarah has guided readers through the digital world with verve and erudition, staying ahead of every turn on the vast beat that is the internet.
She arrives most recently from the Verge, where she’s a senior writer. She also authored the book, “The Internet of Garbage,” which examines the many forms of online harassment, free speech, and the challenges of moderating platforms and social media networks.
Born in South Korea, Sarah grew up in North Carolina and California. She’s both a journalist and a lawyer. As a student at Harvard Law School, she edited the Journal of Law & Gender and worked at the Berkman Klein Center for Internet & Society. She was a Poynter Fellow in Journalism at Yale for 2016 and was named to Forbes 30 under 30 for Media in 2017. She’s written for The Atlantic, Vice’s Motherboard, The Washington Post, and The New York Times Magazine.
Sarah lives in Portland, Ore., and will be writing for us from there. She’ll pay us a visit in the early fall, and we hope you’ll all join us in welcoming her then.
UPDATE
The New York Times has issued the below statement standing by their new editorial hire Sarah Jeong who tweeted in anti-white racist fashion:
UPDATE 2
Some more Jeong tweets that NYT does not see a problem with significant enough to boot her from the editorial board:

Sarah Jeong's tweets being parodies of a kind of bad white racist tweets is the best excuse since Josh Steiner of Clinton's Treasury Dept actually told Congress he had lied to his own diary https://t.co/sObxDIo6Pc— John Podhoretz (@jpodhoretz) August 2, 2018
UPDATE 4
SEE: Sarah Jeong on Why So Many Things Suck
You should hire her to write for Target Liberty. She'll fit right in.
ReplyDeleteDo you need a safe space, snowflake?
DeleteMaybe RW should start providing trigger warnings.
Yes Evan, we know you dream of a libertardian society ruled by the urban primitives RW features here at times. You have yet to show me how a bunch of Africans or some other low IQ non-whites can even run a first world society but you think they can understand concepts like NAP and private property and apply them. When are you moving to Africa?
DeleteAre you suffering from some kind of mental disorder that compels you to regurgitate the exact same sub-60 IQ rant hundreds of times?
DeleteYou are no better with your consistent anti-white comments. Talk about a low IQ. I don't write them for you anyway. If any libertardian can address the points I've made about race, IQ, and culture, I would like to see it.
DeleteIt’s pretty hard for me to take someone’s claims about the importance of intelligence and culture seriously when they themselves exhibit zero signs of either.
DeleteRe: He-Who-Fantasizes-About-White-European-Males,
Delete--- You are no better with your consistent anti-white comments. ---
Projecting much? An observation on your intelligence or lack thereof does not imply an anti-white stance. Besides, your attack is a clear example of chutzpah when it has been you who hasn't wasted a moment to dehumanize persons you don't know only because they don't lack melanin.
Another SJW POS.
ReplyDeleteYou cant be a SJW or racist if you hate on whitey Lab! Where you been?
DeleteNot accepting this explanation of "trolling against trolls" is logically equivalent to rejecting the "ghostwriter" defense of the Ron Paul Newsletter.
ReplyDeleteI hope she isn't fired over this: Censorship will only deprive us of the rich entertainment value of reading her ridiculous editorials.
ReplyDeleteDeportation would be a happy ending.
ReplyDeleteShe's an American citizen, you subnormal.
DeleteShe's another paperwork citizen who hates our European heritage and values. They should all be deported.
DeleteTo channel the late great actor and NRA president, Charlton Heston: she can pry my White Privilege out of my cold dead fingers.
ReplyDeleteShe can say whatever she wants, of course. The problem for the NYT is how to present this hiring decision without coming out as big hypocrites.
ReplyDeleteThe way to deal with these people is make sure their mics never cut out and get her columns as close to page 1 as possible. These types of leftists recognize no constraint on their ideas. If you give them enough track, they will keep going until they crash and burn. They only know how to fight, absent opposition they become self-destructive. If Hillary had won, the best strategy would be to goad her into upping the anti at every step. $15 minimum wage? Why not $20? Force her to either commit to the absurd natural conclusion of her thinking or explain why it's absurd.
