ReplyDeleteNotice the assumption (implicit in this tweet) -- which too many Americans make -- that if the state catches and incarcerates a male between the ages of 18 and 40 anywhere in the Middle East, that is irrefutable proof that he has committed some act of violence against the U.S. There is no further proof required that someone is a "terrorist" rightfully subject to punishment I leave aside the whole question of whether it is acceptable to torture a terrorist: that would be mostly irrelevant if the U.S. first had to criminally convict such a person.
