Kim Jong-un and Moon Jae-in Agree to Sign a Peace Treaty!

On Friday afternoon, local time, Kim Jong-un and Moon Jae-in issued a joint statement in which they said they would hold talks on establishing a formal peace treaty.

According to the statement, all propaganda activities by the two countries will stop on May 1st. The two Koreas’ defense ministers will meet in that month, and Moon will visit Pyongyang in the fall. The countries will work to “ease the sharp military tensions on the Korean peninsula.”

These two deserve Nobel Peace prizes.

  1. They should rescind Kissinger's, Arafat's, and Obama's and give them to these men as well.
They should have awarded the last one to Putin for the Syrian chem weapons deal.

  2. North Korea finally got smart and saw that the "China Model" toward greater prosperity and global relevancy makes much more sense than their own failed model of isolation and a Garrison State.
Next question: What do they have to export or to offer the world, if trade come to North Korea? Tourism?

  4. Wow, amazing! These two agreed to this without the United States getting involved and messing everything up?

Yes, they do deserve the peace price.

  5. I wonder if the South Korean government is going to require the North Korean government to give up whatever nuclear weapons it has, or if the South Korean government is willing to live with North Korea as is. I can see the US government refusing to withdraw its troops until the North Korean government yields on this point, in other words, insisting on an impossible condition.

    2. Occupation forces rarely leave of their own free will. I don’t see the US leaving under any circumstances. Ever.

  6. Actually they should include Trump in that Nobel Peace Prize. But they won't.

    2. Trump scared the shit out of both of them with his unpredictable and erratic behaviour. That is what got this all started. Trump did something that no other President was able to do. If that is not Peace Prize material...

  7. I would argue this peace process was driven in part by Trump. Every other administration failed at even getting this far, so I'm baffled how anyone can legitimately say Trump did nothing here.

More Trump Derangement Syndrome from the libertardian peanut gallery.

    1. Yes, TDS is the most likely candidate. Except unlike BDS (Bush Derangement Syndrome) this is affecting both Democrats and Republicans, Liberals and Conservatives, Libertarians and ... er ... non Libertarians. Of course Bush was a lying war monger, so there was that. But Trump is given no props for anything.
