I don't know whether he is or is not part of the alt-right, but if he thinks disavowing it will save him he is crazy. Eventually the will try to shut down even the most mildly conservative.
"alt-right" has very quickly become a non-specific smear term, so it is rather pointless to wonder if he is or is not. He told James Damore, very soon after that controversy arose, that James should not define himself (to the press) in terms of what he is not. It didn't seem like casual advice tossed out lightly. So I do not expect to see disavowals from Dr. Peterson.
It's funny that the fat slug "journalist" they interviewed to smear Peterson is so incredibly repulsive, that the piece is self-defeating. And that's the story of the modern left. Give them rope, please, and watch the hangings.
Take note that the commissars are attacking Petersen and the alt-right, and not libertarians who retreated to their safe little bubbles as times got tough.
As far as I can tell, most ex-libertarians who converted to the alt-right have (after a sometimes-messy divorce) ceased referring to themselves as libertarians.
Or, is Peterson just a tragic hero, similar to Oscar Wilde? He had to know it would be a hit piece. Yet he just couldn't keep himself out of the limelight. Maybe he believed he was golden enough win the day. Hoist on his own egotistical petard.
Correct. And the term "White Nationalist" is just a politically correct stand in for "Cracker" as far as I can tell. It is used in the same way: as a smear term for anyone who is white that a Democrat disagrees with.
This documentary was produced by David Fuller - a former UK Channel 4 colleague of "what your saying is" Cathy Newman. Early on they discuss "the Blue Church" versus "the Intellectual Dark Web" (IDW). This addresses why MSM and academia (together labelled 'the Blue Church') just cannot even process alternative thinkers like Peterson.

ReplyDeleteAs soon as libertarians allied themselves with the alt-right, they lost all credibility.
DeleteAccording to NBC, anyone who dislikes John McCain (their idea of a conservative) is alt right. They're going to smear you no matter what you do.

ReplyDeleteAlt right is a term invented by racists to hide their agenda and used by mainstream media to smear any right wing or libertarian thoughts...
