Attorney General Jeff Sessions Encourages US Attorneys to Seek Death Penalty in Some Drug-Related Cases

Attorney General Jeff Sessions strongly encouraged U.S. attorneys to consider "every lawful tool at their disposal" to combat the national opioid abuse epidemic, including seeking the death penalty in some drug-related cases, the Justice Department announced Wednesday, MassLive.com reports.

One example Sessions used for the use of the death penalty was for those "dealing in extremely large quantities of drugs."
