There really isn't a libertarian bone in Trump's body and nor respect for the freedom to write whatever one wants.
The New York Times reports that President Trump lashed out again at a new book that suggests top White House aides fear that he is unfit for the job, calling the book "a work of fiction" and declaring that libel laws are too weak.
"It's a disgrace that he can do something like this," Trump said of the book, "Fire and Fury: Inside the Trump White House," by New York media writer Michael Wolff. "Libel laws are very weak in this country. If they were stronger, hopefully, you would not have something like that happen."
Trump's remarks, during which he referred to Wolff as a "fraud," came during a brief news conference at Camp David where he is meeting with Republican leaders to plot the GOP agenda for 2018.

Wenzel, aren't you one that is in favor of punishing someone who writes about something that you declare to be your intellectual property?
ReplyDeleteTrump has been talking about weak libel laws for a long time, it was basically part of his platform. So is Wenzel suggesting that libel laws should not exist or that there should be no repercussions for publishing falsehoods?
