Libertarian of the Year
Target Liberty names Laurence M. Vance "Libertarian of the Year."
Many of you may not be familiar with Vance but I urge you to get familiar with his writings. He is a prolific and important libertarian writer.
Some of what he writes is not of interest to me but when he writes about libertarianism, I believe he is one of the most consistent in correctly applying libertarian theory. In the age of Trump, this is extremely important.
I would also argue that he is one of the most underrated libertarian thought leaders and he deserves a much wider following.
Vance is a columnist and policy adviser for the Future of Freedom Foundation, an associated scholar of the Ludwig von Mises Institute, and a columnist, blogger, and book reviewer at LewRockwell.com. His published books and pamphlets include "Social Insecurity," "The War on Drugs Is a War on Freedom," "War, Christianity, and the State: Essays on the Follies of Christian Militarism," "War, Empire, and the Military: Essays on the Follies of War and U.S. Foreign Policy" and "Gun Control and the Second Amendment."

ReplyDeleteYep, he helped this Veteran become one for Peace.
ReplyDeleteI love his anti-war writings, especially where he highlights the hypocrisy of pro-war Christians and Christian leaders.
ReplyDeleteI second your choice. Laurence Vance is the MAN!!! He's fearless in his writings and deserves a much wider following.
ReplyDeleteI had the opportunity of sitting next to Dr Vance at a lunch at the Mises Institute years ago. A true gentleman, and a man of great courage and learning. This award is most fitting.
ReplyDeleteLove Vance's anti-war, anti-military articles.
ReplyDeleteVance is great ! I have given his books as gifts and as eye-openers.
